Notary Fees in Florida — What's Legal and What to Expect
How much can a notary charge in Florida? Learn the legal fee limits, what mobile notaries can charge, and how notary pricing works in 2026.
The Standard Notary Fee (Florida Statute 117.107)
Florida law sets a maximum fee of $10 per notarial act for most standard notarizations. This includes acknowledgments, jurats (affidavits), and oaths. You cannot be charged more than $10 for the notary act itself.
What Mobile Notaries Can Charge
Here's the key distinction: the $10 cap applies only to the notarial act. Mobile notaries can additionally charge for:
- Travel time and mileage — to come to your location
- Convenience fees — for after-hours or weekend service
- Document preparation — if the notary prepares documents for you
That's why our mobile service is $35 plus travel — it covers the notarial act plus the convenience of coming to you.
Remote Online Notarization Fees
RON fees are not capped the same way as in-person acts because they include the RON platform, identity verification (credential analysis and KBA), and secure recording costs. We charge $25 per notarial seal for RON, which is typical for the industry.
What You Can Expect to Pay
| Service | Typical Cost |
|---|---|
| In-person notary (office) | Up to $10 per act (legal cap) |
